People will high grabing clutches, READ!
Hey all. I know alot of you like myself have a high grabbing clutch like myself, and i am sure alot of you do not know why becuase it was just recently installed right? Well I have a star spec stage 2 and their light weight flywheel. I have had a high grabbing clutch (95% to the top) EVER since it was installed, its terrible on the street, but convient on the highway. Well i called star spec, and they told me the flywheel i have was from a batch they that were cut to much from the factory (Star Spec now produces there own flywheels now to avoid this issue) They told me several things to try to fix this without putting a new flywheel in. They told me to space out the slave cylinder from the bell housing, I did it, and it works! I still have to add alittle more spacing but it does help. Some of you mite already know this, but thought i would share it with everyone :-) If you have a high grabbing clutch do the folowing:
1)Remove the slave cylinder from the driver side of the trans (leave the metal unit on that comes after the slave cylinder on.
2) Start out with 2mm worth of 1/4 washers on EACH bolt that connects to the slave cylinder (2). Acording to Star Spec there is no REAL limit on how much u can space out.
3) Mite have to let the slave cylinder gravity bleed becuase it is a sealed unit, atleast i had to.
4)Bolt everything back on and give it a shot :-)
SORRY for this being so long, thought it mite help alot of people who dont know about this.
If you have any problems email me: NVetro@nj.rr.com

lemme know if you get into a jam. If you try this, and bolt everything back up and you cant seem to press the clutch down, that means you didn't let it gravity bleed enough. Btw also, that rod that comes out of the slave cylinder has to sit agianst the fork when you put it back, you will see what i mean.
