Post after post keeps showing up with people trapping ~115 and being happy with those times, I would personally be pissed as hell if I was only running that with a heads/cam setup which is the reason I'm going to change my heads/cam.

that set of gears in the 10 bolt lasted as long as he owned the car, which was about 3 years and an ungodly number of passes. my rearend is the same setup. sliding the clutch goes a long way. its a combination of good setup, GM gears, a T/A cover, and launch technique. that car even had stock axles in it. made a little over 400rwhp on the motor, and it never broke the rearend. we patterned it after another friends h/c m6 93 Z28 that ran the same with the same combination back in the mid 90s. and here we are 10 years later, with people making the same power, breaking 10 bolts and not running near the et or mph as the h/c packages of the old days. amazing.

I had a set of AI's heads, stock intake, moderate hyd cam, longtubes, 58 mm Tb, 4.11's, 3400 lbs and one pass before I got kicked off for no cage. Time in sig. I tried running twice before that and broke the 12 bolt and the next time I ripped the Mac/Jegster torque arm in half.

Just noticed this, back 3 yrs ago when I had my formula I had the le1.5 heads and a SMALL SMALL Joe O. cam, I wanted NO lope and thats what I got from him through the stock catback. It was much smaller than any of the le1 cams. Time is in my sig.

My buddy has a 355 le2 heads, le3 cam, stock 3.42 gears in the stock 10 bolt with 200k+ miles, no suspension except SFC's and no sway bar, on drag radials and it went 11.70 at 121mph with the base madz28 tune in so so weather. In good weather with a good tune and a rear end that car should go 125mph.

Your buddy has my setup (355, LE2 heads, LE3 cam)... except I have 4.11's in a 9" and an automatic. That makes me feel GOOD about my setup!
