When I first got my 94 I cut the muffler out and had a straight pipe welded in place of it.
LOUD. Felt like I lost alot of low end torque (didn,t just feels like it) so I bought a used cat back and it felt alot better.
I run Hooker LTs with hornies header mufflers.
Now its loud again.

when I cut the muffler off my 96 and drove it to the exhaust shop, it felt like I was driving a dump truck. Just doesn't sound good at all on these cars...

For a short while, i had 3 inch pipe, gutted cat, 4 inch tips. Sounded great! Sure didn't sound like a dump truck. It rocked, but law enforcement was a bit touchy. LOL. I put a "muffler" on and they passed it even though it wasn't any quieter. LOL

Performance wise, my car felt meaner.

ya I did, mine sounded clean, with a tad bit of rasp As far as loseing low end the gears i put end helped that and the car pulled hard on the top end. But once the cat bit the dust the pleastenly loud exhaust went away as well.

the new set up is gonna be very queit, as to add some stelth

I ran no cats no mufflers stopped before the rear in a true dual style, and it was loud, I couldn't even go full throttle without fear of a cop 5 miles away hearing me. I'm sure you've heard motorcycles without mufflers, imagine more cylinders and even louder. It'll give you a headache, plus forget about hearing the radio. Also I had to give it even less gas all the time to avoid the noise. the freeways are best with this setup, you can go fast full throttle and the upper rpm range kicks but. For the street however a catback is best. After I put mufflers back on, I couldn't believe the low end toqure I got back, felt much better, the throttle no longer felt soggy. get a cutout for the days you want loud. I also ran with just one cat and stock piping, not as bad as above but the sound quality wasn't great.
With two cats and duals without mufflers, I felt the same experience as with no mufflers it was too loud and no throttle response. Keep in mind I have 4.10s, yes it helps, but its still not very exciting
