Re: Pcv Valve Help

it's a rubber hose somewhere in the middle of the driver's side of the intake manifold, just yank on the hose and the valve should come out with it. Slide the old valve out, and slap the new one in. Takes about a total of 15 seconds to do.

The location of the valve is the same for all year LT1's.

The routing of the hose is a little different.... 93 and 94 have a short u-shaped hose that runs into a port on the drivers side of the manifold, a few inches behind the PCV valve. The 95-97 cars have the hose routed as shown in the picture, to a port under the throttle body.

You might want to add a "signature" with the year of your car, tranny type and any major mods. That will help people provide a more accurate answer, without asking what year your car is.

Re: Pcv Valve Help

Yikes.. I thought the port under the throttle body was for coolant, and I blocked it off... I wonder WTF my PCV is connected to then......???????

Note: I wasn't the one who hooked all this stuff up either.. I just noticed that the hole under the throttle body was open, and I plugged it with a pipe thread plug and used some locktite and RTV to seal it...

I have a stock 1995 LT1 bottom end with a rebuilt 1997 LT1 top end (heads, intake, lingenfelter TB).

Ps. Could this stuff, in combination with the AIR system being plugged into the wrong spots, possibly cause my engine to smoke?

I don't know about "smoking", but it might explain why you have sludge in the valve covers.

by under the throttle body, we mean the port in the intake

Re: Pcv Valve Help

Thats what I mean too.. if by the port in the intake, you mean the round port in the intake, right beneath the throttle body, which accepts a pipe thread...

I'll take a picture in a bit if this doesn't clear it up..

Check it when you replace the valve. Can't hurt to replace it.

Re: Pcv Valve Help

Checked my PCV, it rattles..

I've got a picture of where I think you meant the line should go (into the intake manifold port under the throttle body), and where my line is currently going (into the passenger side of the throttle body).

See pictures here:

I'm not totally sure though, so any feedback is welcome!
