Bryan said there is no way that the initial cause could be programming related. The whole resistor thing was what I was orginally going to go with but this seemed the cheaper, easier, permanent fix. I also checked the resistance on the key and found that there was none. So I dunno, should have the PCM back on Thursday so I will let you know then what my results were.
Is the securitly light on? You have never said it was. Does it light up during the "bulb test" when you first turn the key on?

Yes it lights up when you turn the key on for the bulb test. However it does not stay on or flash as you go to start the car. When I spoke with Bryan he said he would be able to take care of the code and fix the problem. The PCM should be on it's way back to me as we speak. I will have it tomorrow, so I will let everyone know the outcome.

Wink Fixed!

Well got the car up and running last night. The PCM is fixed, I have no SES light on for the first time since I have owned the car, old LT-1 and all. She runs great, idles perfect, new transmission is very nice, and I have not had a chance to get on it yet as to having a new clutch and tranny. So far so good though. Much thanks to those of you posting on this problem and my crankshaft issue. Chad Golen did a great job, as expected, with the rebuild after the crankshaft broke, plus paid for 2 computer flashes in the mean time. Bryan Herter also did a very nice and quick, might I add, job with my PCM. Other than that just need to put miles on her at $3.09 a gallon for premium here in NC.

If anyone wants to see pics of the broken crankshaft let me know as from what I have heard breaking them is rare. Other than that it is great to be driving the Camaro again

Re: PCM Prob or Jesus playing tricks on me?

The code that I mentioned about the pass key fuel enabled was the problem. After that was deleted it was a matter of fine "tuning" what was left to install: makin sure everything was out of the way of the headers, out of the way of the serpentine belt, everything was connected correctly, vacuum lines were hooked up or plugged off, etc.

We installed the PCM and it started right up and ran great. So my VATS system as far as the shock sensor and alarm goes it is still active. Just the code, which I don't recall as it is not in front of me and has been deleted from the computer, was the culprit. However, after 72 miles of driving I received a 1441 code which is Auxilary Engine Emissions Control, I was like f'n A, I get all the codes erased and now the back up plan for my emissions is complaining. I will find out why that came on tomorrow. Other than that she runs great, well up until 3500 rpms cuz that is the highest I have taken her so far. Got another 270 miles before I can let her loose.
