There is more than one LT1-guru nowadays. Can't be so quick to assume his word is gospel. I've also heard of Patriot's lack of QC nowadays.

Also I'd like opinions on the crane 10308 springs. They're becoming hard to find but I've read a lot of positive things about them
Summit Racing shows a part number 10309-1. Not sure if that's a typo or the same springs as the 10308-1s

Summit doesn't carry the 10308-1's anymore, they're getting hard to find. I checked and the 10309-1's are different, thanks for looking.

The 10309 are for Impala heads, it's listed wrong somewhere at Summit. Summit tried selling me 10309's a few years ago and claimed "we can't be liable for you buying 10308 instead of 10309's, so we can't sell them to you." So I walked over to another sales counter and bought the 10308's.

P/N 10308 is for the entire valve spring kit. 99893 is the part number for the springs only.

This was bugging me so I did some more checking. Here's what I found:

The 09 kit was advertised as a SINGLE spring with a spring damper; the 08 kit was advertised as dual springs.

I bought the 08 kit from Summit, but that was early in in 2007.

I wasn't able to find a 08 kit for sale when I did a GOOGLE search. Could be because of Crane's business problems. GOOGLE locked up on me so my search wasn't extensive.

Just as information, the Dart Pro1s I bought for my son's 96 LT1 Vette came with CompCams duals with a damper. I want to say 987s but I need to look that up to be sure.

I ran the patriot springs on my 355 and soon on my 383. When I took the heads off of the 355 I seen absolutely no problem what so ever with the springs. The car was ran hard all last summer. They are still very sturdy and it takes some force to push them down. They were recommended to me by lloyd to go with his cam. I am now bumping up to one of his new cams and some LE2 heads and intake. I have not talked about springs for the new cam but I am sure he still recommends the patriots. Good luck.
