Passing smog/sniffer test with LE2 setup..

Ok, I live in Florida currently, smog inspections are gone.

We are looking into moving to Tennessee towards the latter part of the year and I know they have emissions testing, which sucks.

I plan on throwing an LE2 setup on the car within a few weeks.

I'd like to have a second setup ready to go only for emissions purposes. If I throw a set of cats on there and have pcmforless throw an emissions friendly tune on there (is that possible), could I get the car to pass emissions?

I dont' want to ***** out on my car to move to another state.

I've read that on my 1997 in that part of the country they check do the OBD2 diagnostics and a visual. Visual can be covered easily, I guess I need some of the sensors reporting properly? I guess that can be faked as well huh..

They just need to make sure the PCM is not throwing any codes, as well as the visual..so you're good.

You are hereby ordered to also move to Tennessee as well. Pass the word to your folks.

You and Jason are depressing me about leaving. I need to lug his *** up there too.

If you are getting LE2 heads/LE2 cam and are installing them on the car in sig that ran 12.0's at 112 MPH, 1.6X 60ft with the 224/230 cam, you will have a ROCKET once the LE2 stuff is installed.

You sir, are just the man to get me there Yes, these will be going on the car in my sig. Bent #8 intake pushrod, so it's time to remove parts and go faster.

I'll be contacting you within the next two weeks to place my order. I have a set of 643 castings that will be on their way to you.

Pulling my passenger side head off this weekend to make sure no damage was done to the piston during my bent pushrod malfunction.

Thanks for the props gentlemen

Re: Passing smog/sniffer test with LE2 setup..

so many of my heads/cam set ups go on 6 speed cars with stock rears and 2.0 60 ft's so when I get a customer focusing on track times with an A4 and stall that is getting 60 ft's like that, I really get pumped up about the results.

I can DEFINITELY see some mid 11.4's at 118 MPH or so with bigger inj, fuel pump and good tuning.

Re: Passing smog/sniffer test with LE2 setup..

Lloyd hearing that optimism puts a big grin on my face I'd be sure to get some looks from some LS1 owners around here

Racetronix/walbro 255lph fuel pump is already in, and either 30 or 36lb injectors depending on your suggestion will be put in with this setup.

At first it will be another PCMforless tune, but man he's pretty dead on, as his tune is what got me to my 12.0x passes cam only. After a while a full dyno-tune will come about.

Looking forward to speaking with you soon.
