passenger area hot
passenger area hot
i was driving tonight and my buddy was saying that his legs were getting hot, i felt the floorboard area and it was pretty hot i also have been trying to figure out why the car seems to be sluggish after about 40. The car was running warmer the past couple days but i can't tell if thats because its been over 100* every day lately or another reason. The car has 130000 on it and still has the factory cat i believe. Another thing that makes me think its the cat is becase the car is lowered and the cat appears to be pretty banged up. Do you guys think this sounds about right? Will most exhaust shops just delete the cat or to risky for them? What do they cost like 100 bucks or something? thanks for the help
Re: passenger area hot
99.999% sure its a clogged cat. You'll have to find a backyard shop that will remove it and weld a test pipe in there for you. It is a federal law they would be breaking if they removed it for you. So not a lot of shops will do it. Cash only sorta dealy.
I see you're in cali though. Emissions testing area? If so you cant just delete the cat.

Re: passenger area hot
ok i took it to my exhasut guy this morning and he said the cat looked fine, it was kinda white on the inside but it didn't looked plugged up at all.
he did say that the center of my cat was 600* though and most likely it was running lean or rich. Does this sound right? Is there anyway i can find this out using my scanmaster because now im stumped

Re: passenger area hot
ok another thing now. i was just trying to figure out the scanmaster and its showing me codes 18 and 51 now. 18 is injector circuts 51 is eeprom programming error. Ok so now what do i do lol
Re: passenger area hot
I have the same problem with the passanger side getting hot, and feeling hot air coming up through my center console. I just have Hooker Long tubes going into a y-pipe straight to my Flowmaster. I really don't think its your cat, cause I don't have one and mine is doing the same thing. But I haven't found how to fix that problem yet either.
