parts list for opti conversion???
parts list for opti conversion???
Okay, I wrecked the engine in my 94, but found a 95 that I am going to buy. What parts do I need since this engine requires a venteds opti. I know there have been posts on doing this to a pre-95 car, but I want to make sure I don't get any parts I don't need. Do I ned different wiring harnesses or anything? Thanks.
You will need the 95 electrical harness that is mentioned here:
http://para.noid.org/~muttvette/opti.html . Don't know what you are getting with the new engine, so you may some of the other things, as well.

Hey shoebox, any idea how much those parts will cost, and where I can get them? The engine is missing the opti and plugs and wires, so I'm not sure if it needs all those other harnesses. Since he took that opti off and put it on another 95 engine, I am sure it won't need the timing cover and gaskets. I a mostly concerned about the two harnesses and vacumm fitting. Would the dealer be the best place to get those?
Yes, get them at the dealer. Get all your GM parts from:

The electrical harness is not real cheap (~$70 wholesale). The vacuum harness is ~$12.
