partial air removal

Im preparing the car for Longtubes install and just got my
pcmforless tune with !egr !air !rearO2

my question is, can i remove all of the AIR system up to the diverter valves
but leave the valves on the stock manifolds until i do the headers
and will the valves keep the air from flowing out the headers if the air
tubing and pump are gone?

I want to take the egr and air off ahead of time so ill have more time
for the header install but i dont want to spend 10 bucks for drain plugs
if its coming off anyway in a couple weeks

Re: partial air removal

If the valves are good it should work. I ran mine for a couple of years with just rubber caps over the ends.
