If you are talking about stock LT1 valve springs. Don't waste your time putting a new set on. At the very least use the stock LT4 springs.

LT4 valve spring kit (16): part # 12495494

Single LT1 valve spring GM PART # 10206040
GM list price is $13.60 each. That would be over $200 for a set. Even wholesale price ($8.06) would be way over what the LT4 springs are. Now do you see why people are trying to do you a favor and steer you away from the stock springs?

LT1 springs have been discontinued for some time, they were replaced by the LT4 springs as quoted above. If you call most dealers they will tell you that, although some may still have the LT1 springs in stock. However, I doubt they would be any less expensive than the LT4's.

I posted the cost from GMpartsdirect and they still seem to be available.

Yes, but just saying "do this!" isn't answering my question. You answered my question. You said this is worth x and the other one is worth y. Thats all I was asking. Thanks! (without the attitude next time)

Telling a dude "I hope you drop a valve" might just be the male equivalent to telling a B@#$% "I hope you get a yeast infection" Ouch.

I never meant for my original post to come across as attitude. Just trying to tell him at 40$ you might as well upgrade to LT4 springs. I was nice about it I thought.
