PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
Does anyone have this combo? Did it fit right in? I havent put the y pipe on yet, but i just held it up today, and it looks like i'm going to have to cut part of my exhaust to get it to fit right. It doesnt go to the stock location behind the cat, does that sound right? I just want to make sure I didnt get the wrong part.
I ordered it from TSP, and a sticker on one pipe says 211611 and the other says 211612 i believe.
I just want to make sure its the right part before I hack up my 700 dollar exhaust to get it to fit.

Re: PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
yeah, you'll have to cut it. i didn't want to cut up my borla, so i sold it and got a better sounding hooker catback and made 10 bucks all said and done. can't beat that.
Re: PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
I cant say anything about the Borla with the Pacesetters, but I will second that the Hooker sounds really good with them. If you decide you need something different once its together, I would look there.
Re: PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
not to hijack, but does your hooker sound loud with those headers and y-pipe? i had a bunch of timing retard, but my system was relatively quiet for a large cam with a 109lsa. ??
Re: PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
I wouldnt really say it is "quiet", but definately not as loud as some others. When I get on it, it really screams but with normal driving it is loud but nothing overly loud. lol-kind of hard to explain with words
Re: PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
I have the Borla and I love it, but I have hooker shorties and a cat, although I'm thinking of taking the cat off. I've been told that the borla sounds really loud and raspy behind LT's and ORY. Just what I've been told, so I would have looked at another catback in your case. Go to www.lt1engine.com and maybe even www.ls1tech.com to find some soudn librarys of different exhaust and cam combinations for the lt1. Find something as close to yours as possible and see what you think.

Re: PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
Do you still have to cut with a Hooker catback? In all honesty, what I REALLY want is a SLP 2OTL, I might just sell the borla and try to find one of those for now.
Or I might just throw a muffler on it and dump it right after the Y pipe. My neighbors would LOVE me then

Yip you will have to cut it. I love the sound of my combo, have the pacesetter LT's & Y pipe with my borla 3/4 open. It sounds awesome and I get a lot of looks and compliments on how it sounds. Here is a small idle clip of it - http://video.ls1tech.com/Player.aspx...A-2F9A0C95A479
Re: PacesetterLT's and ORY & Borla catback
I have the stock SLP 2OTL on my 96 SS still with the Pacesetter LT's and y-pipe. It wasn't really loud or anything but it got up there when you jumped on it. I've added dual cats now so it's even quieter. Nice rumble at idle but not loud at all. It's actually very nice while cruising around and still makes some noise when you get on it.
