Pacesetter Y-Pipe to Cat Back

I'm running pacesetter long tubes into a pacesetter offroad y pipe, then into a magnaflow catback. Everything bolts together no problem, but it seems like it is too far towards the rear of the car.

So my question is... Did anyone else with a similar setup have to cut their y pipe to make it fit properly?

I didn't have to cut the y-pipe at all, the I-pipe of the catback just slid right over it and I sealed it up with a 3" band clamp. I did recall that it was tight though, so give it some "elbow grease" to push it on.

Re: Pacesetter Y-Pipe to Cat Back

I cut my i pipe when doing mine and did a little custom fab work to get the i and y to meet up correctly. There was a post very similar to this maybe a week ago. I forgot to look what year of car you have ( one or two cats ) but i thought it made a difference? In the instructions, i remeber it saying something about cutting the i pipe back to before the bend where it would normally go to meet the cat on a one cat car. Maybe its been to long and i forgot what the hell im talking about?

Re: Pacesetter Y-Pipe to Cat Back

I just got done installing my Magnaflow Cat-back on my 95....sam setup (i.E. Pacesetter longtubes and ORY pipe.) I had to cut my Y-pipe back about 2" or so to allow the over axle pipe piece to clear right......now my muffler sits at a slight angle but that's a simple fix..mine was a 1-cat car...as far as it being a 1 cat or 2 cat car that only matters when you are running the stock Manifolds and y-pipe....makes no difference what so ever if you have Longtubes with an aftermarket Y......Instructions had a lil "note" on them..
