Question Pacesetter Shorties? Good or Bad?

For $200 I got some NEW PaceSetter shorty coated heADers with Y Pipe. I looked them up on there site and saw they are $568 so I know I got a decent deal, but now I am debating on installing them or selling them to use the money to get some better headers? Anyone know anythink about these headers, are they worth installing or should I sell them?

I have them I wasn't very impresed with them. For that price though it would be hard to say no. If you do plan to install them make sure the openings in the tops of the headers are big enough for the EGR tubes, mine weren't and stripped the egr fittings that led me to having to do the !AIR, !CAT, and !EGR mods. I was trying to stay emissions legal, but since I live in MO, the emissions testing here is a joke anyway so why not?

I would say sell them and get coated MAC's. For $549 plus $30 you can get the MAC's. Just my thought though. Havent really heard too many things about the pacesetters.

Why werent you very impressed with them? Did they sound ugly? Did you not feel a diffrence in power? Do you have a before and after time from the track? I honestly want the As&M Headers but I want to get an electric cut out also, plus I still need some interior parts, so money unless it make a major diffrence is important

Maybe I should have rephrased that I wasn't impressed with the coating that pace setters come with. The headers themselves aren't that bad. I seen a local guy who had a set of Eldelbrock's and I swear my plug clearance was a ton better, the coating on my y-pipe has flaked off but I'm not sure if that was because I scraped it on something or not. As far as power goes I have raced MANY other bolt-on N/A LT1s and after 40mph I rip them like I was in an LS1(This was before the transmission work(Stall, Shift Kit, Rebuild), and the gears). So there was definantly a gain
