pacesetter or mac?
Re: pacesetter or mac?
Everyone seems to swear by LTs and I have never owend a set but I do have the Mac mids and they 100% definetly make a difference and I am very happy with them and the ground clearance id just about the same as stock,
LTs in Montreal wouldnt last long due to our Crap roads!!.

Re: pacesetter or mac?
I researched and chose midlength headers over LT's. Money was not the primary factor either.
I chose Jet-Hot coated MACs.
I gained a solid 0.6 seconds and 4-5 mph from them with the Hooker catback.

I've never owned any MACs, but I do have Pacesetter LTs on the '94 Formula. They're ceramic coated and have very thick flanges and good build quality. I highly recommend them.
If you have a lowered car, the midlengths would be a good choice. A midlength header will give up a little midrange, but they work good in the upper RPM range.

Brent made an excellent write up of them compared to the HOOKERS..
Now as Kevin said if your lowered then you'll probably want the MAC's...
Re: pacesetter or mac?
Pacesetter shorties are garbage ... unfortunatly. However, their long tubes are awesome. I noticed a HUGE gain in power, sounds wicked with an ORY, and my flowmaster is probly choking up the exhaust some ( Maybe not though cause its 2 chamber instead of 3 ) but the sound
You WILL NOT be disapointed with PaceSetter Long Tubes ... They sub out the O2 connectors through casper electronics. Casper Electronics sent me LS1 style connectors, I called up Pacesetter and they had CE send out the rite ones same day, I had the rite ones 2 days later. Great service, good quality, and my gaskets arent leaking yet.
DO NOT torque them down the the 35#'s though that their install guide says. I took ONE up to 30 before it felt like it was going to strip, needless to say the rest are all torqued at around 25 now.

Re: pacesetter or mac?
I would go with pacesetters! I might end up sending my Macs back! They are really easy to get in and bolt up, but after that things started going bad for me! I found out that the a.i.r. fittings on the headers were too big, so i called mac and they admitted to welding the wrong ones on the headers
also the y-pipe fitment is horrible. If i keep them, i will have to go to the exhaust shop and have them bend the mac y-pipe or fab up a new one. Oh and i said something about sending the headers back and getting a new set, and they wanted me to pay shipping on their screw up!

Did you buy the painted headers and send them over to Jet-Hot. Had I known prior that the Pacesetter coating was pure crap, I would have gone that route.

Great plug access, great ground clearance, and I passed emissions with them....
