Pacesetter install, few issues with oil pressure sender

Installed my pacesetter long-tubes today on my 94 z28 and i have a few questions. On the drivers side i noticed something pushed up against header. I believe its the oil pressure sender. I did a little research and i guess on half of the 94s the sender was moved behind the intake manifold by the EGR valve. My question is what should i do about this? is there a easy solution? Heres a picture from underneath.

Also on the passenger side the header is against the bellhousing. Do you just grind the bellhousing down a little bit? what tool is the best for this?

Thanks in advance for any help or advise, i want to finish the rest of the exhaust but want to tend to these few problems first in case i have to disconnect the headers or anything.

If its a problem, why not just use the port on the top of the block, behind the back of the intake manifold?

I just did this install

Interesting, I just did this install on my 94 and did not run into either of these issues. It seems like everyone who does a Pacesetter install runs into something a little unique.

I will offer that the results are well worth the pain of the install.

for the oil pressure sender you can just get a 908 elbow install that in the block then attach the sender to that. that way it wont stick out

with the bell housing about the only thing you can do is grind it

Yea use the port on top of the motor in the back. or you can change up the pluming by the header, you can put a 90 with a little straight piece of pipe to get it out from the block. (and no it wont affect your oil psi, ive checked it) for the headers hitting the trans your on your own. I've put alot of those headers on customers cars and never had that prob. If its just hitting it you could grind a little out. the motor, headers and trans move together so it shouldn't get worse... If they weren't coated i would say heat the tubes up and bend the header a little after you get the y pipe on. Ive done that more than once...

you can grind the ear of the tranny if you wish, its not integral.

thanks for all your suggestions, i was thinking of doing the 90 degree pipe idea. i checked behind the motor and did not see that hookup that's on the 94.5+ engines. i think i might have an earlier 94, so ill just have to reroute it. what parts will i need to do this? thanks for any help in advance

in not sure off the top of my head, but it think its 1/4 NPT tread. it might be 1/8... take the sensor out and use that to check. go to your local hardware store and get a piece of pipe that size about 1.5 to 2" long.(use a tape measure and see how long it can be before you hit the headers, take a little off for the 90 to fit in there). get a 90 thats the same size and put some tread sealer on and put it together. dont forget to aim the 90 in a good direction as u tighten it up. I use the smaller brass fittings. If you have a ACE hardware store around they usually have a good selection of them...

You won't see the hookup behind the intake manifold but it should be there - it's probably plugged. But the 90 degree elbow will work perfectly for what you need.

My dad's pacesetters went on smooth with no issues but I installed them while his engine, transmission, and kframe were sitting on a furniture dolly. I installed LPP Longtube headers on my car the same way - engine out of the car - and the first install I had tons of clearance but the second install the headers were hitting the kframe. It doesn't seem like there's that much adjustment to be done but yet after doing it twice on my car there was a big difference between clearances.
