Pacesetter emissions fittings

Hey, finally got my pacesetter LTs in now im just buttoning everything up to start the car. For some reason I cannot get the EGR fitting to bolt to the header. The transmission dipstick is in the way and ive been playing with it for a little bit but cant figure it out. Anyone have the same problem? Any fixes besides blocking it? Thanks for the help

It should bolt up. I had to tighten the bolt up real good for it to fit flush with the header but it did.

Is it way off or what?

The transmission dipstick tube is directly in the way of the egr fitting when the headers are installed. It is right where the mounting bracket is so i cant bend it around. Can the mounting bracket be removed possibly? Theres no way for both the egr and the mounting bracket for the dipstick to be in there. Thanks!

Yeah, same here. I think Pacesetter only designed those headers to work around the M6 cars because the tranny dipstick completely collides with the EGR fitting. I took the header out, heated up the fitting with a Sear propane torch, and bent it with a piece of rod iron towards the firewall.

Man I even called pacesetter and asked them about it, they said they had no notes or problems ever with that part colliding. Well I guess thats what I get for going cheap. Oh well, excuse to break out the ol torch

I had the same problem. I was trying to bend it, but couldn't get it right so I just ended up blocking it off.

Hey, if im going to cap the egr on the back of the intake manifold do I also have to remove and cap the valve part too? I really want to get this damn car running and this is just another setback. thanks

I'm almost positive you can have the valve just "there". Just leave it disconnected from the sensor and leave the valve in there.

That was what I was going to do when my block off plates weren't arriving quick enough.

Yep, I heated it for a few minutes with the torch and bent it about an inch towards the firewall.
