pace-setter mid-lengths....HELP!!!!

pace-setter mid-lengths....HELP!!!!

1995 trans am m6
single cat setup
pace-setter midlengths

Got all the stock exhaust off without a hitch and now im onto the passenger side header...i cant get the damn thing into the hole it belongs. going in from the bottom it gets stuck in between the dipstick and the firewall.

any ideas?

Almost every header install I have done requires the dipstick removal. With AS&M middies i did on a 93 t/a required us to not only remove he dipstick, but also to bend it to help get it aligned right.

10 mm bolt on the block, and it slides out.

it doesn't slid right out, mine took over 30 mins to twist and pull, then twist and push from the bottom to get out, but it does come out.

also to help I just did this a few months ago, get the starter out also.

I've got the same headers...the dipstick needs to come out. I dropped the starter also...which gave me more hand space.

after about 20 minutes of twisting and pulling the tube i finally got the bastard out...didnt have to drop the starter and all is well and i've got both headers bolted up...now just gotta get the rest of the exhaust bolted up and im ready to rock...thanks alot for the quick responses and patience with my annoyed self...this site is the raawks lol
