p0306 code 96 camaro ss

i just replace the opti in my camaro, a friend was helping me put it on.. and put it on wrong.. was missing firing really really bad.. i went back.. removed the opti.. and put it in the correct possition... cranked.. sputtered for a few seconds (i guess to get old gas out of cylinders)..then ideled fine.. no trouble..ran it for 2 weeks like this..no trouble still... i got on it driving home from work..and at low rpms it sputtered a little.. at high rpms no problem.. p0306 - no fire cylinder 6.

what and where should i look first ?

thanks
Paul

I would start off easy and check the plug and wire on that particular cylinder. How old are the plugs and wires? Is the wire seated firmly on the opti end and the spark plug?
