Angry P.O.S. CSI water pumped died...

*#@^$^$*%#*&^%*#@&%$...

That's how I felt last night. It just died for no reason at all. It is less than a year old (about 7 months to be exact) and the motor in the pump just quit. WTF?

Mezierre here I come.

What problems have you guys had with your CSI pumps? Maybe I just had bad luck with mine.

How many hours were on the pump?

They do die eventually

People have had problems with Mezeires, also.

I will be playing it safe and sticking with an OEM.

How did you have it wired? Did you use a 15 amp inline fuse? Just curious, I installed one recently and no problems with it yet.

I had a 15 amp fuse on it and it did not blow. There was not a short or anything that I can see. From what I can tell the motor in the pump just died. I took the pump and jumped it directly to the battery and it does nothing. DEAD

I drive the car all the time (it's my only car) and it has been good until last night. The motor in the pump just seems to have died for no reason.

Oh well... I am thinking about going with another stock pump. dunno yet though.

If that is the case then how can the advertise 2 different pumps? One being a standard electric pump for LT1 and the other being a Heavy Duty electric pump for LT1.

Is it that they both use the same company to make the pump or is there more to it?

I think I just ran into some bad luck with the pump and it died.

OK looking at that a little more carefully, it seems that it will use the pump power wire as a ground if it shorts out? Correct?

But i still dont see how the bad ground light works?

I did not have an indicator light. I noticed that the temp was getting up after about 2 miles of driving. I pulled over and when I turned on the key I noticed the pump was not coming on.

I'm not sure how that works but I am going to use this guide for the CSI. I think this way the light will always be on unless the power to the pump fails. Not sure if it would go out if the motor just died or burnt out though. I need to install that light along with the switch on mine this weekend.
