P.i.t.a!!!!!
Argghh! This was a pain in the *** getting the water pump off. The DAmn HAyens manual is horrible. I spent 15 minutes beating the hell out this thing trying to figure out why it wouldn't come loose. Only to find out it was a damn bolt! THe one behind the Bracket! The manual didn't even say anything about it!
My question is How do you remove the old water pump gaskets? Thier melted to the Block?
And while hte fans are out I want to upgrade them...what else is good?
Total PITA!
I think when I'm done I'll use the Haynes manual as an oil rag!

You can get those gaskets off by using a scraper or razor blade. It takes time and patience which it looks liek you have little from your post. LOL
Stock fans are more than fine. No need to upgrade the stock fans for any reason.

This stuff should help with cleaning those gaskets.
Just kidding.
As an advice, when something doesn't come out easy, always look for what else may hold it in place instead of prying and possibly damage it.
Also, my manuals show all 6 waterpump bolts.
As for the gaskets, get some liquid gasket remover from a place like NAPA or Autozone. Spray and let it soak. Then get a blade scraper and scrape them. It will take a while and it's a very tedious job, but make sure you clean it well. I used a dremel on them before on my '95 Z, but on the '93, I had to use the procedure described above due to lack of electricity in my storage unit.
The key here is patience. Some of these things require a lot of it.
Good luck!

Yeah..just use a razor blade. After its all done I use thinner to get it all clean.
Just think my man. Next time you do it, it will be a piece of cake.
Oh yeah....go to the doctor and get some anti-aftermarket meds for your disorder.
