Exclamation Oxygen Sensor Removal!

Ok, So what would be the easiest and quickest way to remove the right side (passenger side) oxygen sensor on an 95 Pontiac Trans Am LT1.

Also, what type of time frame am i looking at to replace it? I basically only have about an hour work time in the shop and this is also with a lift.

Thanks

Don't think there's an easy way to do that sucker.
They're usually stuck in there pretty good...some you can't take out even with a torch!
So for me, doing it from the top was out of the question. I had to do it through the bottom. Dropped the y-pipe and starter.
There might be an easier way but that's the only way that worked for me. I also heated it up pretty good with a propane torch.

Good luck!

So when you drop the y pipe, do you also have to move the entire exhaust system back to get the y pipe off? It looks like the rear cat back system is overlapping the Catalytic converter.

Thanks

No, you can just unbolt it at the converter flange and it will come off.

I did it from the bottom as well. I didn't have to drop the Y though. I used a long extension with a swivel. Took me a while to square it off on the head, but once I did it came right out. Helps alot if you let the pipes warm up a little. Good luck!

Weird... it didn't seem possible to me. I just didn't have enough room to turn the wrench.

I used a very long extension which allowed me to turn it below the Y. It took me about an hour.

Ok, So i am basically looking at about an hour to do all of the work right? Plus i have the advantage of having the work done on a lift.

Would i have to remove the starter as well? or would i be able to remove the O2 sensor with just the y pipe removed?
