Thanks for the replies. I figured out it's just the sensor, because after long periods of idling and driving I can open the radiator cap without coolant spewing everywhere. I went to the dealership saturday to get a new one and they had the sensor itself but not the connector so I don't know what to do about this whole thing.

Can you see coolant sitting in the radiator?

What sensor?

Yes, there is coolant in the radiator. The sensor in the head that sends signal to the gauge in the dash which tells you what your coolant temp. is the one I am speaking of.That sensor I am speaking of is from autozone. The dealership has this sensor, but they don't seem to have the matching connector or plug if you will. I am going back to the dealership today to see if someone else there can help me.

I may be wrong but if you headgasket is leaking, air may keep getting in the cooling system through that leak while the engine combusts and it goes througt the crack in the gasket.
