Question Overheating problems!!

I just got my car running... so its got new heads on, new push rods and new 1.6 roller rockers..

Good news is everything else (non-coolant related) seems to be working well.. well besides my oil pressure gauge seeming to be a bit flaky reading 90psi sometimes..

The bad news is that the car is heating up really fast..

I can't tell, but the fans don't seem to be running (All fuses are good tho).

Also, coolant seems to be leaking out of one of the hoses, and hot air/steam out of another after i turn the car off.

If I run it with the coolant cap open, boiling coolant and steam just bubble out like a bastard.

I just replaced the thermostat recently (maybe 1000 miles ago, but the car hasn't been driven since last summer).

I think the thermo is working tho, it seems that coolant is circulating fine..

So I guess, I think its either the fans or the leaking coolant or a combination.. but I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas I might have missed.. It seems like leaking coolant shouldn't really make the car overheat at all... (I kept adding more to keep the level up, yet it kept overheating).

Does anyone know how to diagnose the fans?

Thanks in advance!

Did you bleed all the air out of the coolant system?
