overheating problem

I just installed my 385 and I hav a weird heating problem. I installed my 160* therm and new gasket, but the temp shot up to 210 in no time and I killed it. Took it out and have been running without the therm as of this moment. However, I still get hot when sitting in traffic, hotter than I usually run. I do not run the A/C, but I do know the fans are on. They seem to be running weak since it did not feel to force a lot of air through. Is it possible that my problem could be the fans being weak and worn out? The engine runs at 180* constant when I am moving w/o the therm in, I am afraid to try the 160* therm because it shoots my temp up really fast and doesnt cool down. Anyone have any suggestions?

Put the thermostat back in, and try bleeding it, it might take a few times to get all the air out.

If your talking Fast Burn 385, there known to run hot. Other than that i would try a stock themostat and see if that brings it back to somewhat normal, before trying the 160 again.
