Overheating

Well, My coolant light was on, so I put coolant in it, I had the radiator cap off and was letting the car idle so it doesn't get any air bubbles in it, then it just sprayed coolant everywhere, why did this happen? I turned the car off and put the cap back on and ran it, and it started overheating a bit, think there may be air bubbles in coolant still?

Are you aware of the coolant bleeding procedure for the unique "reverse flow" cooling system used in the LT1?

Shoebox has the info you need:
