Out with the LT1 in with the Gen I... *PICS*

Hello all, well we've had nothin but problems with the LT1 in my 95 Z28 it seems so we've decided to go with a good ole Chevy Small Block. The motor is a balanced and blue printed 4-bolt main, 355ci sbc, steel crank, Weisco Forged Flattop pistons, all forged bottom end, Comp Cam Hyd roller 230/236 561/573lift, 1.65rr's, Super Pro Series Patriot Aluminum Heads - C&C Bowl blended, flow = in.600L/263, ex.600L/184, in. 2.02 ex. 1.60. Intake Im not sure of, what do ya'll recommend? I'm thinking about going with the Edelbrock Victor E EFI intake, but its up there in price. This will go in my 95 M6 Z28. What kinda numbers do you guys think it should put down?

Ohh man your pulling out the LT1???? Come on, don't quite on us. That's the purpose of the lt1 IMO. Not just anyone can build one, and you did!

If your gonna do that though, i would choose a bigger cam for it. Are you going carb or no? If so I recomend the Victor Jr. intake. With that combo i would say about 450fwhp. Thats about the same setup in my '67.

If your really getting rid of the lt1 let me know, i'll buy some parts from you.

ill say you might pick up 20-30rwhp if the compression remains the same as the LT1.

No, compression will drop prob around 9.5:1. Thats part of the reason, although I could just buy new heads for the LT1 We already had this one at the shop. I can't keep the LT1 from pinging on pump gas. And it also has blown a few head gaskets. Who ever had the car before me milled the heads way to far.

Nah, thats alright. I never told anyone its the corvette motor anyways. Actually what I said when that question was asked was... Just a stock 350 with a mild cam.

Moved the sensor into a custom distributer. Just for the sensor. Will use LTCC still. I'll try to get pics later.

It seems like you are just trying to reinvent the wheel here, whats wrong with an lt1, in simplest terms its a reverse flow cooling, fuel injected gen 1 with a funky distributor, your keeping the funky distributor, and the fuel injection, so why don't you want the lt1?
