Send them to a porter while you are at it. AI has had success with them from what I have read. Out of the box I hear they are so so but with a good port job they are wild!

Why do you keep saying 305?

CC305 cam... he is referring that the cam may be mild and not need wild.

I say they can't hurt. If he has already purchased them why leave them as molded castings? Eventually the bug will hit and he will want a bigger cam. Get the heads ported now. Save a complete tear down and just replace the cam when it comes that time.

Karl Ellwein(quickss on here) has tested them a couple of different ways and as cast they are about like mildly ported iron heads, not the wonderpiece everyone wants them to be.

Bet if you search his name and Dart you can turn up some results.

yeah i'm still running the cc305 thats why i'm not getting them ported right now....just gonna run them out the box for a while and at some point may send them to AI for some work and a custom grind cam....just figured i'd see how they did on a mild build seeing that i haven't seen much info on them and i was itching for a change

its not like the heads are going to cause problems with a mild cam. It just not going to make as much power as it would with something bigger. I would get them ported while they still havent been installed yet, mainly because i want to see some other numbers other than whats on AI's site.
If you dont mind, what did you pay for them? Looking into getting a pair real soon.

They don't do much better than stock as cast.

a few shops have tested on them.....you can get some air out of em.

I would buy some if I had any money

Local guy pulled his Hotcam LT1 350 out of his 96 Z28 and put a 305 in it's place. Also removed his rear brakes since he couldnt run them with his drag wheels...jebus
