Optispark Waterproofing????

I run a 95 LT1 in my Jeep and I don't play in anykind of really deep water because of the Optispark. However some trails that me and my club go to require the fording of a stream of some kind sometimes. My question is, Is there anyway to make the opti as water proof as I can. I hope it never gets completely submerged and I always check the depth of the water first but I still worry about it. Any help would be appreciated. I looked at delteq's system but I think it still uses the optical triggering. Is this correct? Also that wouldn't really help my case would it?

The Delteq still uses the optical sensor in the opti.
You can try running beads of RTV or urathane aorund the seam joints of the casing.

Re: Optispark Waterproofing????

I know Corvette Clinic retrofits opti spark dist, for 100 bucks they will turn it into a vented opti. But you are going thru rivers and streams, that might be to much even for a vented opti. You can email them at info@corvetteclinicinc.com . I am planning on buying a new npn vented opti from summit and sending it to them for a retrofit.
