Optispark swap...

it's been a while, bu to prep my car for opti removal...and to remove the water pump....what do I need to remove? Drain the coolant first, remove water pump and what else?

balancer/ hub. You may be able to get it off if you remove the balancer only.

do i need to drain the entire coolant from the block or just the radiator?

You should do the block. The coolant will still be in the waterpump. Drain either the knock sensor or the plug on the opposite side. I think the knock sensor is the easier of the 2 plugs.

If you have the airpump, you have to remove that also. I think you might need to take off the coil. I don't think you can get by with only removing the balancer. I am pretty sure you have to take the hub off also.

a two or three jaw puller should work. I used it on mine and it slide right off.

Hi guys I did my opti about a year ago and I followed the intructions on these guys web site. It is spot on with photos of every stage. Very useful.
