Do i need a new coil (97)

I have a 97 z and I wanted to test my coil. It is different than the one in the hayne's manual so i don't have a test for it.

There are two terminals and one more that goes to the opti. When measuring resistance from opti end to either of the terminals, i get 6000 ohms resistance. When i bridge both terminals that are inside the pigtail connector, i get no resistance. Is the coil bad?

How do i properly test it. I am getting some misfires here and there so I was wondering.

Not exactly sure of the test that you are doing, but a static test for coil continuity will only tell you if the coil is open internally. If it was, your engine would not run. It won't really pinpoint a possible misfire problem. Coil and plug wires are more likely suspects and of course, the optispark.
