Has anyone ever replaced one of these when they did their cap/rotor change?? The reason I ask is because my opti is apart right now. I would like to change it out just for a peace of mind and to rule it out. Hopefully someone can give me a part # (already tried shoebox) because as it looks, it only comes with a new unit($850 cnd from dealer).

 

Why not replace the entire unit? Replace the cap/rotor and optical module, and you are still left with the 9-10 year old low quality bearing that is just another weak point in the OEM Optis.

 

I would not bother replacing piece parts of the opti for the same reasons Fred mentioned.
