Hey. I just wanna know how what year your car is and how many miles it had when you had optispark failure.

My first opti failure.

100,000 + some change on my opti. It's just starting to miss at low rpm's. It has been missing at high rpm's since 95,000

105,000 miles! I just changed mine cause my water pump was going bad. I didnt have any optu failure symptoms, but when I removed the old opti the input shaft was really lose, you could hear is rattle if you shook it too. SO, it was time for a new one.

Last week at the dragstrip, came home on a trailer, 93 z28, 82000 miles. Replaced opti with new delco, ran five minutes, died no spark. Replaced coil (15 bucks) still no spark. Now it tripped a code 41, ICM. Water pump was leaking so it needed it.

I replaced mine when my water pump went at 80,000 miles. Opti was still good, but wasnt taking any chances.

Cool

107K and runs great. Had the water pump off last month. I would have replaced it if any one had one in stock. Not readily available so I put it back on.

While I had it off I opened it up and took a look. Completely dry, no carbon tracks and looked great.

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

135k when my cap and rotor went bad.
Optical portion seemed fine but the bearing was a little loose.
