Ran all the wires from the spark plugs in the block to the distributor all the plugs are in the right places.Took the boots off and there is spark but still wont start. Not sure what to do next. Re: Optispark install problem

Double check all the plug wires.

Did you remember to plug in the main opti connector on the top passenger side?

i would also say check the main plug, make sure you got the right opti. if you got a 95 and newer vented, the hole for the plug is too deep and the connecter on the plug will not reach.

Did you have to force it on in any type of way or did it slide on easily? I'm wondering if the opti isn't positioned on the splined shaft correctly...

No didnt have to force it on but there was a real nasty crak in the main plug connector that someone just siliconed back together so ordered the whole opti to replace it.

Re: Optispark install problem

If you're getting a spark and the wires are connected properly, but the engine won't start then I suspect that the optispark was not keyed right when you installed the new one. If you do end up tearing it back down try to start the engine before adding the radiator fluid, it will save you a bath in case you have to disassemble again.
