Optispark install problem
Optispark install problem
Okay guys heres what i got. Driving a 93 Trans am LT1 73k miles. Just recently replcaed cap and rotor on opti reinstalled everything and engine will rotate but not start. Ran all the wires from the spark plugs in the block to the distributor all the plugs are in the right places.Took the boots off and there is spark but still wont start. Not sure what to do next. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Re: Optispark install problem
i would also say check the main plug, make sure you got the right opti. if you got a 95 and newer vented, the hole for the plug is too deep and the connecter on the plug will not reach.

Re: Optispark install problem
If you're getting a spark and the wires are connected properly, but the engine won't start then I suspect that the optispark was not keyed right when you installed the new one. If you do end up tearing it back down try to start the engine before adding the radiator fluid, it will save you a bath in case you have to disassemble again.
