Ok well got it off. I have a remanfactured water pump. I way over budget on this project anyway.
Questions.
1. There is the shaft of the back of the water pump you must use on the "new" water pump if its not a ac delco one. The autoparts store does not sell it. I called the dealer said they dont' sell it you need to buy the whole new water pump. We tried to get it off till 1:00am this morning. We had vice grips and try to put pentrating oil. NO luck my dad wants to heat it up with a torch and get it off.

Something it sounds like you will need, though, is two new water pump coupling o-rings. They should fit on each shaft in a little groove. Yours will probably be flat and brittle. They may even be missing. Also put a little dab of grease on each shaft before putting the coupling on. The o-rings seal the coupling to keep out moisture. That may be why yours is hard to get off.
Well yea, randy does it several times and he never has had a prombelm. My old waterpump wasn't bad, but I figured with 124k on it , it would be good investment.
He had vice grips, and pliers and he is VERY strong he is like a real big boy and and tried for 40 mintues with no luck. I guess I should had got a GM waterpump.
1. Can I pick up the coupling gaskets at autoparts store? thanks

The coupling is GM PART # 10128334 and is over $60 retail
(about half that at wholesale). I don't think you will find one at the local auto parts store (the last guy on the board looking for one didn't). You need to get that thing off!
The coupling does not come even with a GM pump.

yes, as a said in my post b4, you must go to the dealer. even then it is usually a part that must be ordered. i paid 55 for mine. i never found one wholesale. shoebox kindly supplied the p.n. 10128334. just one of the small parts that i had to buy for my conversion.
they do come off. the only thing holding it on is an o-ring.

Well we took it to Adavance put it a vice, and beat it off. I got it off I also got the gaskets for it. I got 2 gates radiator hoses too=54.00. So I should have everything now. I got a fuel filter to change too and I need to put my bolt in for my oil dipstick. Thanks I will let you know how it goes leaving work in a bit to fix it.
