tap it with a hammer a little, or use a 3 tow puller on it.

Penatrating oil and a wheel puller, I had to use a two jaw. The good newes is that the bolts are off set so it only goes on one way.

Mine slips off easily. Did you try WD40 or PB Blaster?

I can't get it off either

I'm in the middle of opti install. My dad tried for 2 hours to get it off no luck, there is a bolt dead center on the balancer does this need to be removed? We have a 2 way steering wheel puller no luck with it then we have a 3 way puller that you put the long bolts though the existing holes but no luck on getting out. I guess I need the correct puller.

Here is the deal: all you need to do is remove the pulley/balancer. You do not need to remove the hub just to change the opti. Use a puller like in my other response if needed. You can't use a puller that uses the bolt holes. That would be for pulling the hub.

I have tried using wd-40 to loosen it but no help. And I can not get a good angle to hit it w/ a hammer. I also tried prying it a bit from the bottom using the sway bar as the base but to no luck. If anyone knows where i could get a pulley like described before i would greatly appreciate it.

Ok i'm wondering if my car is different being a early 94.

1.There is a Bolt dead center on my pulley, does that have to be removed? My dad said on Ford trucks you have to take the bolt in the middle of the balancer/pully to get it off.

2.A friend is coming over with a correct pulley. So that should help too.

My dad is driving me crazy set there for 2 hours trying to take it off afraid he is going to screw my crank. And I begged him to stop till my friend randy(done opti install by himself several times)
comes over but he wouldn't listen.

3. I'm taking my air pump off, I took off the bracket but how do you get it off cut it out or pull it out or is there another bolt on the passenger side of the vehicle. thanks

The bolt in the middle secures the hub, which does not need to come off. Just remove the three bolts on the spokes and use the puller in the pic link if needed.

Going to a autoparts store to get one hopfeully and bolt my water pump back on then hook everything ok should be done. THANK YOU SHOEBOX you have really helped and been to respond and I have emailed you persoanl several times and you always respond I know you don't get paid for this "Service" but I do want to say thank you and God bless

I had to use a harmonic balencer puller. Since I only had a 2-jaw one handy it took a while (kept popping off) but I just kept going real real real slow with it, and i used a torque wrench (my regular heavy socket wrench wasn't strong enough without making it pop off). Once you get the initial "thud" it should come off easy.
