Optispark *PLEASE HELP NOW*
Optispark *PLEASE HELP NOW*
Well I know there has been a million posts about them but here is mine. I bought one the other day and just had it installed on the car to see if that would fix the problem that I had been having. I have the Delteq system currently installed on my car. The mechanic just got it all installed and said the car keeps turning over but it never starts. He said the optibox isn't lighting up either like it isn't getting a signal. Does this mean the optical portion of the optispark is dead in this new one? PLEASE HELP!!
Re: Optispark *PLEASE HELP NOW*
Not sure but maybe this will help....... http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#opti_test . Good luck figuring it out. If you find out what the problem is be sure to post it in case the problem happens to someone else.
Re: Optispark *PLEASE HELP NOW*
how old is the deltec? You might have a problem with the harness from the injectors to the opti box. I would first check that you are receiving a signal from the opti, as stated above. good luck.

*UPDATE*
Installed a brand new opti this time and it fired right up. Took it for a test drive and brought it back to the shop. Turned it off and tried to restart it. Nothing at all. The coils in the Delteq system don't seem to be firing at all. Everything in the system has ground and power though.
Disconnected and removed all the Delteq off the car and then installed stock ignition system with delco plug wires. Car fired right up and runs perfect. No problems starting/restarting or anything. I think it might have been in the opti-box but I am not positive. I am now really more than ever just wanting it back to stock and ready to drive daily again without any problems. I think everytime I modify my car something seems to go terribly wrong with my luck.
Thanks again for the help fellas. I sure needed it.
