opti vacuum

I have put 5 opti's on my car since the engine rebuild. Apparently, i did not put the vacuum lines back on correctly. The opti's are lasting about 2 weeks max. I was wondering if not having the vacuum lines run correctly to the intake and the elbow would keep cause the rotor button to disintegrate. The rotor button is the only think that ever messes up. The engine is turned about 6200 with the cc305 cam, the usually bolt ons. The opti usually goes out when i am in upper rpms. Just trying to find out what i actually need to do to get some quality out of this car.
thanks

Re: opti vacuum

Opti vacuum.

The blue pieces need to be on the hose to the intake.

Re: opti vacuum

yeah, shoebox is the man

however, the vacuum routing should not make the rotor disentigate in 2 weeks, the most common cause of that is the cam dowel being too long

Just covering the question about vacuum. I agree about the dowel pin.

Here you can see the difference in a stock 1995 dowel pin and a pin that might come in a Comp cam.
The pin on the right is an opti destroyer . Comp's install instructions say to always check the dowel pin for proper length in your application.
