Opti Seal

I know this question has been asked a bunch and i've searched for almost 2 hours now for "opti seal" and "opti seal install" with no luck. Opti seal installed dry, oiled, or rtv'd? Thank you

Re: Opti Seal

I use motor oil on mine. DO NOT USE RTV as this is a moving part. I looked thru my 95 SM but couldnt find anything but that doesn't mean it's not in there.

Re: Opti Seal

Couldn't find anything in my book either. I don't remember if i did dry or oiled the first time. Obviously when the shop did my heads and cam something got messed up. Used the old seal or rtv'd because my dynaspark is being rebuilt due to oil inside it

Re: Opti Seal

You can put a dab of RTV on the outside of the seal where it fits into the timing cover. Lightly oil the inside of the seal and you're good to go.
