opti saying final goodbye?

so my car has been messed up for a while lately..changed o2's,coil,plugs,wires,fuel pump and icm and the car is still not runnning right...today went to the track and the whole way there the car felt like it was running really rough and boggy
On the way back the whole time the car kept misfiring and when i floored it 3/5times around 4500-6000rpm it misfires and crackles like its job, then just driving its popping and running real bad and jerky...think my opti is going on me, the car does have 104k on the clock

what kind of car is it ?
1. check for codes
lots of sensors can cause this , map , tps, cranshaft sensor, stuck open egr ....
may be a cranck shaft sensors i know 96 lt1 had them and dirt or debree on a cranshaft sensor can cause that.check your opti with an oscilisscope is the best tool to see if there is a problem with the opti.

yes you are obd1 , you have to find your diagnostic connector wich should be no further that 27 in. from steering wheel. ground connector A & B with a paper clip , the CEL will flash code 22 first to let you know it is in diag. mode i think it flashes the code 22 twice but im not sure , after that it will flash the trouble code if it has one .

Re: opti saying final goodbye?

The 94 Z28 Opti is OBDI but will not flash codes when shorting the A & B pins. You have to buy a cable (like I did) and download some free software to your laptop. You will then have access to a wealth of great information, including any DT codes.
You can search this site for cable manufacturers, or e-mail me and I will tell you where I bought my cable. Shorting the pins or using a hand scan tool will not access the OBDI on the 1994. I believe that it will on earlier models. Trust me, I went the first route until the guys on this site set me on the correct path.
