opti question (romoving the rotor)

Those that have removed the rotor from the opti with ignition conversion, what did you do about the 2 screws that held the rotor in, they are to long to use with the rotor out but you have to have them to hold in the metal plate that triggers the optical sensor.

Just a random guess here, but... get some shorter ones?

^^^^Smart ***

I couldn't find any small enough at the hardware store, they are tiny. Guess I just need to go to some kind of fastener place. Anyone know what size they areoff hand?

I haven't seen inside the opti, but depending on the kind of screw you might try a hobby shop. R/C stuff uses lots of small screws and bolts.

It is a 2-56 NC. A #2 is 3/32". It is an english thread, NOT metric. With the integral washer, highly doubt you'll find an OEM specific screw anywhere but an OEM outlet. Generic may be possible.

Re: opti question (romoving the rotor)

Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to shorten the existing screws.

I would definitely use some thread locker on them.

Re: opti question (romoving the rotor)

I prefer to 'trim' the rotor instead, thus allowing me to use original screws.
