opti question

got a replacement motor for my car for a good deal....new with no miles
its a 94 LT1 and I have a 95 trans am

If I open it up, the warrenty is void.

Can I run the nonvented opti in my car. I hate to but it seems the only thing possible.

Cant sway cams and I know that the dowel pin has to be on the cam to sit in the groove of the vented opti.

Any input.

yeah you can, i dont see why it would be a problem, but the cap and rotor bolt up just the same, go to autozone and get a cap and rotor for a vented opti, and just swap them out, it was pretty simple

The cam needs a nose drilling in addition to the longer dowel pin to run a vented opti [and the 95 timing cover of course]

If i understand the question, you have a 94 motor with a 94 unvented opti that you swapped into a 95.. [and can't upgrade to vented due to warranty issues, etc.]
You need a 94 'opti harness' that will plug from the passenger side of intake manifold 4 prong weatherpack connector to the 94 opti.. [the vented opti plug is longer, tho it MAY fit.. never tried one.. I do know that the short[94] one does NOT fit a vented opti.. you could try it first.. it may fit..
You should be able to get one cheap from anyone that has done the vented opti upgrade..
As far as the venting goes you can just not vent it.. or do the vented opti conversion, since you have the vacuum harness already in place.. [more to it though than a cap and rotor kit]

How much was the cap and rotor kit at AZ?
Was it a 'Well's' brand? or?
