Angry Opti people inside please!

My car is missing, flooding, and stumbling, hesitating in lower rpm's and its slowly progressing into my upper rpm's. The car starts fine with no problems, but immediately after start up gas smell will overtake you. Idling the car will miss, but the real problem is when you take off in the lower rpms it has no power you can put the pedal on the floor and it will just hesitate and slowly build speed, then it will take off like a champ. While cruising at a highway speed (55 or so) the car will lunge forward kinda jerk you. I have even noticed the car shaking from it as well as my hood vibrating. The jerk or lunge is fairly consistent too, unless you have the engine revved higher. When stopping the cars idle will drop down to almost 400 or 500 rpms, start bogging almost quit then pick back up.
So in order to fix it I have replaced the following:
Coil
Coil wire
Plugs
Wires
ICM
IAT

Is it time to try the opti? Its been on my car around 2 years, I got to thinking about it and my waterpump went out about 3 months ago, replaced it and shortly after my car wasnt the same. Its a 94 non vented opti, 6 speed. So HELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! Please, I am so frustrated with this car, I dont even wanna drive it anymore, I'd rather kick it.

Anything else? Any way to check the opti? There are no codes, but just wondering if I could check it some way?

i think the only way is to check for spark, and thats only if nothing is happening at all......

i would change the fuel filter too, and check the fuel pressure because that could be a possible cause

If it was a fuel problem would it be flooding?

How many miles are on the car and are they "hard" miles? My '93 was doing the same thing. I replaced with a vented-opti and it didn't fix the problem. I didn't figure out what it was until I tore the motor down. My cam was gone! The damn thing had been worn down. My builder had never seen anything like it. Said someone must have driven the snot out of it (I bought it with 170k miles).

The Opti is a good place to start though. I highly recommend upgrading to the vented opti if you can. Sam at Fairway Chevy in Las Vegas hooked me up with a pretty decent price on the whole conversion kit. That was awhile ago though.

If you had problem after a water pump failure then my guess is the opti is bad. My waterpump failed and shortly after that it ran crappy at times. Then it cleared up and ran for another year. Then, all of a sudden it died at 40 mph and wouldn't run again. It had spark but not at the right time. I replaced the opti and she has never run better.

The car was Hotcammed a lil under 2 years ago. I'm actually hoping it is the opti so it will be fixed because I have no clue what else it could be!

Do check fuel supply, pressure and such just to rule that out.

You mention that it's got a hotcam already, so at least going to a vented opti isn't nearly as hard .. [the cam is the hardest part of 'upgrading'..]
