Re: Opti out of time?

Ok thanks.
Is there a way to swap the optical sensor on a vented opti into a non-vented opti? I have a brand new vented opti and I already swapped the cap and rotor from it onto my '94 opti.
Since I think I may have fubared the optical sensor on my '94, is there a way I can use the opti sensor from the vented opti, and put it on my '94 opti...since I already have the vented cap and rotor anyway. God I hope so. Thanks!

I guess you can look at it and see if they are the same. I don't think many people bother to do this.

Re: Opti out of time?

I just don't have the money for a new opti. And I have a brand new vented one that I already parted out (so to speak), I was just wondering if it could be done.

I am rather sure they are not the same.. different bearing, and the plug is different, and the way it goes together is different.. try it tho .. u got nothing to lose and then we can be sure whether they do or not..

Re: Opti out of time?

Welp, the vented cap and rotor will work on a non-vented opti. The vented optical sensor WILL NOT work on a non-vented though. It's pretty much a different design.
On a side note....the car still doesn't run
