I'm saying, do what you have to do to prove to yourself that the dowel is not the problem. Most everyone's "exploding opti" condition has been caused by the dowel.

Yeah, better to measure total dowel length. Mine was .650", but it could have been a little longer and been ok.

Certainly agree.. if that dowell is too long it will put too much force on that high tech plastic rotor.. cam end play may be in the mix also.. rule out the most probably then scratch yer head if that isnt it..

ahhh ok so what do u mean by using the clay? where should i put it? inside the lil hole were the dowel goes?

just had to update this thread! turns out the problem WAS indeed the cam dowel! after like 4 opti's and two grinding sessions it's finally grinded down to where it doesn't hit and ive been running strong for about 2 months now thanks guys

that's cause i've been there and done that with the search... someone has a problem and asks for help but they never usually post the dayum outcome

people need to learn how to play the game
