opti install help needed

just ordered a new msd opti. and kept my original opti in the same position it came out in,so i could setup the msd the same way... however showing a friend my progress, they happened to spin the opti wheel on the original so that option is now out.... anyways need help lining up the timing marks, from what i understand ther is a notch on the crank hub,and that should be in the 12 o clock position lined up with the a notch on the timing chain cover, and what i am understanding is the cam "notch in the 6 oclock position means the engine is on tdc spark stroke for cylinder 1??? so should be able to open up the msd and set it up firing on cylinder 1??? is there a better way or is this the way? i have tried some searching, just havent found much on this issue. thanks for your time.

No. 93/94 use a different drive system for the unvented Opti. Rob/Shoebox has a picture for you too:

In essence the 93/94 OPTI is easier since all you do is line up and go?

IDK about easier. You have to pay attention to what you are doing in both cases.

Re: opti install help needed

People manage to screw up the alignment of both types, about equally.
