Opti help needed
Opti help needed
Z28 started misfiring especially when warm.
Had it scanned - code 36 High resolution pulse failure.
I recently bought the car & noticed that a new waterpump had been installed.
Decided to remove Opti , just as well because bolts holding down waterpump
were loose.
Great Info from Injuneer on how split HT side of Opti using throttle body
Torx screw I have cleaned this part of the opti as it had corroded.
Questions 1 Any ideas on how to split the Low voltage side ?
2 Rotor bearing is bad can this be repaired ?
3 Most reliable replacement for opti system ?
I want to make a temporary repair to the existing opti until I can import a suggested upgrade - probably take a couple of weeks.
Any Info would be greatly appreciated - really enjoy driving the Camaro
Thanks
Patrick

Re: Opti help needed
wow i guess this brings new light to african engineered.....i think you may just want to get a new opti instead of messing with that crap......i am sure someone here would send you one. just make sure to get a original gm unit
Re: Opti help needed
In Darkest Africa we even have to make our own waterpump gaskets.
Has the quality of the bearing on the GM Unit improved.
This car only has 44 000 miles on it - Granted the opti must have picked
up some condensation from the waterpump failure.
Camaro downtime = boring Toyota to work & back !
