Opti help...fixed it or not fixed it?
I thought my opti was going out so I replaced the plugs, wires, and coil (including coil wire). So then my starter is going bad and I get a new AC Delco one from advance (been good for about a month or two now).
Well then my car started acting like the battery was dead (had power but wouldn't have enough to turn over the engine). So I just got it replaced Sunday with a titanium battery. Went to a movie that night and left my underbody neons on for about 2 1/2 hours. Came out and the car turned over great.
Monday was fine. Then this morning (Tuesday) I go out to start it so I can get to work and its not turning over. Its not even trying to turn over. It clicks and thats all. BUT I can turn all my accessories on and they all have good power going to them.
Would it not turn over like that if my opti was shot or do I need to look elsewhere on the vehicle? Also is there an easy way to test the opti.

I can't imagine how an Opti would cause a battery to go dead. Sounds like the battery isn't charging. That is a simple test. With it running voltage at the battery should be 13-14.7v. If that is ok, something is dragging it down when it isn't running. To test for that, take the neg. wire off the battery and put a light between the battery neg and ground. If it lights, you found your problem. Pull fuses until the light goes out to narrow it down.
I actually just fixed the same problem on my car. I had starter problems, fixed them and then had battery problems. Got a new battery and it wouldnt stay charged so I got a new alternator and booya, that fixed it. I did have to get my battery charged after I replaced the alternator.
Side Note-To test your alternator, start your car and take either battery cable(I suggess the negative) off of the battery and if your car stops running, your alternator is bad. If it keeps runing, you need to look elsewhere. You can also have it tested at most auto parts stores but this way is just easier for me to do without taking the alternator off and driving it somewhere. Good luck with everything.
*EDIT*-OOPS, I didnt read Johns post.
That works too.

hahahaha!!! found the problem. it was the positive side of the battery terminal. the damn thing was stripped and it wasn't exactly tight with the battery so it was draining the thing. plus it wasn't able to get the juice it needed to start the car so it sounded like the starter was bad. anyway it "appears" i found the problem and i've got new terminals on and it starts just fine now (thank god!!!).
anyway thanks for the advance and i'll be using that advice if it doesn't fix the problem.
