Opti Help

While I was underneith my car tonight I noticed on the opti that there were two small tubes on the drivers side that have nothing connected to them. One is plastic and one is aluminum maybe? Does anyone know what these are for? They look like small tubes belong on them for some reason, probably important.

Re: Opti Help

probably vacuum hoses for the vented opti. From what i've heard, if these are not connected it greatly reduces the life of the opti.

Re: Opti Help

Thanks shoebox. That takes care of that issue. If you are still looking, could you think up of an answer for this perdicament I'm in?

Heres what happened. When I pulled my motor, we forgot to take the knock sensor out and the plastic tip snaped off. No big deal, I just went to the dealership and got a new one. Now that the motor is basically fully assembled in the car, as we are hooking up all the sensors I cannot find the plug for the knock sensor. I've spent hours under the car and on the top trying to find it and it's nowhere. Could someone give me some tips as to how I could go about fixing this? Where does the knock sensor wiring come from? I have thousands of dollars into this build up and I'm at a stale mate over a stupid knock sensor plug. Any help or suggestions are welcome.

Re: Opti Help

You need to take the time to look at Shoebox's website.... he has a photo of the complete wiring harness there. The knock sensor wire is in the same bundle as the starter wire and the right O2 sensor wire:

Re: Opti Help

Thank you so much Fred. I'm thinking that I can now locate the wire, but if the plug actually snapped off is there any way I could buy just the plug or is it junkyard time?
