Opti is gone, replace or upgrade to vented?
Is it really worth it to upgrade to a vented opti? The stocker lasted me 120k miles. If it is worth it to do the swap, what is all involved that I need to replace? Thanks.

Just replace it with the non-vented. Othewise you'll need a new cam and timing cover. It'll last you another 120K, at that point you'll probably dump the car, or do a major rebuild.
The vented design is better, but not much.

Sure. Just make sure the cam is designed for the early LT1 (92-94).
FYI, the early optis didn't have the greatest gasket design, it was succeptable to water seeping in. When I replaced mine in my 94, I ran a bead of RTV around the outside of the opti, where the cap meets up with the base, and around the connector. Any water that splashes onto the cap now drains right off, and doesn't get into the cap. An ounce of prevention.
